Sutton Courtenay, Oxfordshire, Oxon (10 February 2005) – WebRes for cruises goes live for easyCruise the latest low cost venture from Stelios founder of easyJet and easyGroup.
easyCruise One is the first in a series of low cost cruise ships intended to attract a younger market to cruising and will operate during the summer along the Mediterranean coasts of France and Italy from the home base of Nice.
easyCruise is the second Stelios venture to use Entee WebRes technology for reservations and was implemented within 8 weeks of being ordered.
WebRes for Cruises can support both conventional and low cost business models and the easyCruise implementation incorporates the proven WebRes yield curve feature which allows pricing to be driven by demand and dates etc.
WebRes, the technology driving the new concept for cruising was designed and developed by Entee Global Services Ltd (www.entee.co.uk), part of the 2morrow Group based in Oxfordshire. The WebRes design and development is based on more than 250 man years of experience in high performance real-time computing and travel industry knowledge to bring together integrated world beating travel technology.
Richard Yeo, Chief Technology Officer for easyGroup said, “We chose Entee because of their proven track record in developing high-throughput transportation reservation systems and previous relationship with easyGroup. They demonstrated a good understanding of what we were trying to achieve and delivered a good quality solution on time and to budget”.
Customers who access the easyCruise (www.easycruise.com) site will shuttle their way though the booking process utilising easy to use drop-down boxes and defaults making the site user friendly; all within a secure environment using front-end MS 2003 servers, Thwate Digital Certificate technology for secure credit card payments and user account transactions.
“The WebRes technology implementation for easyCruise took approximately 8 weeks to configure, build and test, said Janette Stephens, Chief Operating Officer of the 2Morrow Group. The WebRes architecture is built exclusively on Internet technology and incorporates the Microsoft server and relational database architectures to meet the high performance requirements demanded by easyCruise.
WebRes is designed to meet the low cost business model and is particularly appropriate to new start up organisations.
Stephens added, “WebRes is being adopted on a global basis by forward looking organisations in all types of travel transportation sectors. “You will find our technology in the ferry, train, hotel, bus and flight markets; adding cruises to our portfolio, and working with easyCruise is not only exciting, but also demonstrates the confidence easyGroup has in 2morrow Group abilities, technology and support.”
