The ferry booking tool is supplied by Entee Global Services, which allows agents to search and book live inventory of the main UK ferry companies from a single website.
Brittany Ferries, Eurotunnel, Hoverspeed, Irish Ferries, P&O, and SeaFrance are among those linked to Entee. Agents making ferry bookings through AgentNet will be able to book multicrossings, access routes maps, and view cabin photos. To make booking agents need to set up an account, which will also allow them to receive commission payments automatically.
A spokesperson for Amadeus told *TravelMole: "This is better than our current ferry tool because it has got mapping and is easy to use because it is quite graphical."
The new ferry inventory will be in the reservations section of AgentNet and is expected to go live next month. It costs £10 a month per user to get access to AgentNet Maritime, which includes cruise and UK ferry bookings.
AgentNet was launched at the end of 2001, and offers agents a source of information including destination guides, weather, currency convertor, online training and functional tips.
The spokesperson added: "GDSs need to evolve and take what is good from the internet and provide it to agents to help them increase non air revenues."
