Summary
Venezia Lines operates a high speed passenger ferry service between Italy, Croatia and Slovenia. The service which operates throughout the summer months is based in Venice and commenced service in May 2002. Venezia Lines CEO Dr Cechini attended ITB Berlin in March 2002 looking for a web based reservation system that could be operational in time for the first sailing in mid May 2002. After seeing a demonstration of the WebRes for Ferries Venezia Lines decided to order a fully managed and hosted WebRes service from Entee.

Results
WebRes was installed in time for the first sailing on the 17th of May 2002 and from the outset supported call centre bookings, Internet bookings for direct customers together with travel agents and tour operator bookings. No special hardware was required by Venezia Lines or their Travel industry partners other than PCs with Internet access. For 2003 integrated hotel packaging will be offered plus electronic ticket which will both increase revenues and reduce costs Simon Kamsky Venezia Lines General Manager said "As a new ferry operator, the flexibility of WebRes and Entee has allowed us to readily accommodate our constantly changing customer driven business requirements".

Summary
Pentland Ferries is a low cost start up ferry operation providing a non-subsidised lifeline passenger and freight/cargo service between St Margaret's Hope on Orkney and Gills Bay on the Scottish mainland. The service commenced in the summer of 2001 and initially tried to operate a bespoke reservation system developed by a local software house. After the first few months of operation, it became obvious that the reservation system did not meet the reservation or operational needs of Pentland Ferries nor was it possible to accept real-time bookings through the Internet. Following a number of meetings and presentations from alternative suppliers, the full hosted Entee WebRes for Ferries service was selected by Pentland Ferries.

Results
Work on the implementation began in February 2002 and the system was installed on Good Friday 2002 three days ahead of schedule. In addition to meeting all the reservation requirements, additional functionality has been provided for passenger, car and freight/cargo check-in and web site bookings. No specialist hardware was required to operate the system just sufficient PCs with Internet access which is provided via ISDN in St Margaret's Hope and a dial up connection in Gills Bay. Since the successful installation real-time travel packaging for customers wishing to travel and stay in the best hotels Orkney can offer has also been added to the web site. Chief Executive Andrew Banks says "the quality of Entee's technology and support has allowed us to concentrate on the provision of a reliable value for money service whilst keeping overheads to a minimum".

Summary
The Puerto Rico Port Authority is responsible for all federal transportation services within the island. One of the services provided by PRPA is a lifeline passenger and cargo ferry service from Fajardo to the islands of Vieques and Culebra. To improve the level of services for residents of the island, a decision was taken in 2002 to purchase a computerised reservation and operational management system for the ferry operation.

Results
Following a tender process during 2003 a contract for WebRes was awarded to Entee's local partner the Phoenix Corporation. In addition to reservations the WebRes implementation will also utilise state of the art mobile wireless check-in and boarding technology designed to help streamline business processes. PRPA staff will be able to scan bar coded boarding passes for foot passengers, cars and cargo which will greatly speed up the check-in and boarding processes. As with all WebRes systems customers will be able to make reservations directly through the Internet or by telephone through the call centre. WebRes will also allow inventory to be reserved for islanders to ensure residents have priority when booking. The pricing process used for cargo is extremely complex and sees the first implementation of the unique WebRes 3 dimensional pricing model.
