GLD Atlantique select WebRes ferry booking system

09 August 2010

GLD Atlantique have selected the market-leading ferry reservation system, WebRes, for their exciting new Motorways of the Sea project. Bookings have gone live this week with the first sailing to due to commence in early September 2010.

Throughout the last few months, Entee's WebRes product has been thoroughly audited by Delloite to ensure it is acceptable and completely accurate in its operation and reporting of details for Motorways of the Sea regulations.

GLD Atlantique is the new ferry operator formed after the signing of the Motorways of the Sea project by the French and Spainish governments. The original signing was done by Dominique Bussereau and his Spanish counterpart, Magdalena ALVAREZ in February 2009.

Following this agreement, the Louis Dreyfus Armateurs group and its Italian partner Grimaldi, through their joint subsidiary GLD ATLANTIC, announced the opening and forthcoming introduction of the first Motorways of the Sea between Spain and France. The new ferry service will operate between the ports of Nantes Saint-Nazaire, France and Gij=n, Spain. The vessel that will be used is the Sorrento, a ship from the Visentini shipyard.

This will be the first application of the WebRes product (for port operations) in Spain.
